EFCC Declares Elie Bitar Wanted Over Alleged Cryptocurrency Fraud

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has declared 41-year-old Elie Bitar, a foreign national, wanted in connection with a cryptocurrency fraud allegedly carried out through the Crypto Bridge Exchange (CBEX) platform.

The EFCC has accused Bitar of playing a significant role in a fraudulent scheme that exploited the CBEX platform to defraud unsuspecting investors in Nigeria. In a public notice, the EFCC revealed that Bitar is being sought for his involvement in the scheme, which reportedly caused significant financial losses across the country.
