Edo Police Clarifies Arrest of Kano Hunters, Denies Herdsmen Claims
The Edo State Police Command has clarified that four individuals intercepted by the Edo Security Network with weapons were hunters from Kano State, not herdsmen as previously reported.
In a statement issued by the command's Public Relations Officer, CSP Moses Joel Yamu, the police dispelled misinformation circulating on social media, which falsely claimed that four armed herdsmen were arrested at a hotel and handed over to authorities.
The suspects Yusuf Abdulkarim, Mujaheed Garba, Shittu Idris, and Jamilu Habibu were found in possession of three Dane guns, six empty cartridges, three half-filled cartridges, four cutlasses, and two daggers.
