"Ditch the Escalade for Innoson If You're Serious About 'Nigeria First' — Atiku Dares Tinubu"

Former Vice President Atiku Abubakar has thrown a bold challenge at President Bola Tinubu, urging him to demonstrate genuine commitment to the newly launched 'Nigeria First' policy by replacing his luxury Cadillac Escalade with a locally manufactured car such as Innoson or Nord.

In a statement issued by his media aide, Phrank Shaibu, Atiku questioned the sincerity of the policy, stating, "If the President truly believes in this Nigeria First agenda, let him lead by example and start riding in a Nigerian-made vehicle. One action like that speaks louder than a thousand policy speeches."

The 'Nigeria First' policy, recently approved by the Federal Executive Council, aims to prioritize the procurement of Nigerian-made goods and services across government ministries and agencies. Minister of Information Mohammed Idris clarified that under the policy, no foreign products will be acquired if a similar version is available locally unless a clear justification is provided.
