Labour Party Suspends Governor Otti, Five Others Over Alleged Anti-Party Conduct

The Labour Party faction led by Julius Abure has announced the indefinite suspension of Abia State Governor Alex Otti and five other prominent members over alleged actions deemed to be against the party’s interests.

The party's National Secretary, Umar Farouk, disclosed the development in a statement on Wednesday, citing the findings of a disciplinary panel formed earlier in May. 

The five-member committee, chaired by Deputy National Chairman Dr. Ayo Olorunfemi, was tasked with investigating the alleged infractions.

“After careful deliberations on May 7, 2025, the National Executive Committee of the party has approved the panel’s recommendations in accordance with our constitution,” Farouk stated.
