Bayern Reacts to Missing Out on Wirtz: "Disappointed, But We Move Forward"
Bayern Munich's sporting director, Max Eberl, has spoken candidly about the club's failed pursuit of German midfield star Florian Wirtz.
Reflecting on the rejection, Eberl admitted the initial reaction was frustrating: "Of course, your first thought is ‘Damn’. But in football, one closed door often leads to another opportunity."
Despite the setback, Eberl remained respectful of Wirtz's decision and praised the young talent's abilities. “Florian is a top-class player there’s no doubt about that. He’s going to make a big impact at Liverpool,” he said, signaling admiration for the 21-year-old while confirming Bayern has shifted its focus to future targets.
