Abia State Government to Convert Unfinished Government House into 5-Star Hotel
The Abia State Government has announced plans to convert the controversial Government House built by the Okezie Ikpeazu administration into a five-star hotel.
The decision was made after an assessment revealed that the structure was incomplete and unsuitable for official use.
Commissioner for Information, Okey Kanu, who inspected the building at Ogurube Layout, Umuahia, described the facility as unsafe and lacking basic features such as wardrobes and an elevator.
He explained that only the first floor is finished, while the rest of the building remains unfinished with unplastered halls and hazardous conditions. "This structure was never intended to be a residence," Kanu remarked
