Uganda Advances With $4 Billion Refinery to Transform National Energy Sector
Uganda has taken a major step toward developing its long planned $4 billion oil refinery, a project expected to significantly reshape the country’s energy landscape.
The refinery is designed to reduce Uganda’s heavy reliance on fuel imports by processing part of the country’s estimated 6.5 billion barrels of oil, of which about 2.2 billion barrels are recoverable.
When completed, the facility is projected to:
Refine 60,000 barrels of crude oil per day.
