Nigerian Army Court Sentences Soldier to Death 

A General Court Martial convened at the 82 Division of the Nigerian Army in Enugu has sentenced Private Adamu Mohammed to death by hanging for the murder of his girlfriend.

The tragic incident occurred on April 11, 2024, within the army barracks in Enugu.

 The woman’s body, reportedly dressed in a hijab, was discovered the following day near the officers' quarters by the daughter of an army lieutenant.

In a related judgment, the court also sentenced another soldier, Private Abubakar Yusuf, to 10 years in prison for charges related to robbery.
