Traoré Criticizes France’s Longstanding “Assistance,” Calls for Full Self-Reliance
Burkina Faso’s leader, Captain Ibrahim Traoré, has issued a strong statement on France’s decades long involvement in the country, arguing that the so called “assistance” has not translated into real development.
According to Traoré, 64 years of external support have yielded little progress, and ending that dependence would not harm Burkina Faso. Instead, he believes it would push the nation toward genuine independence and self-sufficiency.
