Three University of South Alabama students have been arrested and federally charged over alleged threats against President Donald Trump ahead of his October 2 campaign rally at the university’s Mobile campus.

The students — Amare Jemal Woods, Cameron Lamark Lewis and Kayla Leaann Smith — are accused of making separate threatening posts on TikTok and X in the days leading up to Trump’s visit. Authorities say the alleged posts were not connected.

Federal investigators reportedly identified the students while monitoring social media ahead of the president’s visit. The University of South Alabama has condemned the alleged threats while emphasizing that free expression does not extend to unlawful threats or intimidation.

The case remains ongoing, and the allegations have not been proven in court.
