Sowore Blasts Babangida, Calls His Upcoming Book a “Book of Falsehood”

Activist and former presidential candidate Omoyele Sowore has strongly criticized former military ruler Ibrahim Babangida ahead of the launch of his autobiography. 

Sowore labeled the book as a “book of falsehood”, accusing Babangida of rewriting history to shift blame for some of Nigeria’s most controversial events.

In a scathing statement, Sowore pointed out Babangida’s role in the annulment of the 1993 presidential election, widely regarded as Nigeria’s freest and fairest. He also accused the ex-dictator of involvement in the assassination of journalist Dele Giwa, as well as other human rights violations during his time in power.

Sowore further alleged that Babangida will attempt to shift blame onto the late General Sani Abacha, distancing himself from the consequences of his own rule
