South African singer Tyla took home the Favourite Afrobeats Artist award at the 51st American Music Awards (AMAs) held on Monday night at the Fontainebleau in Las Vegas.

 In a competitive category featuring top Nigerian artists such as Asake, Tems, Wizkid, and Rema, Tyla made history as the first South African to win since the category’s inception in 2022, marking a significant milestone for South African music on the global stage.
