Shehu Sani Urges Nigerians to Critically Assess Their Local Leaders, Not Just President Tinubu
As President Bola Tinubu marks his second year in office, Senator Shehu Sani has encouraged Nigerians to extend their political commentary beyond the presidency.
In a statement posted online, the former lawmaker noted that while many citizens have written both positive and negative reviews of Tinubu’s performance, they should also be bold enough to evaluate their state governors, senators, and members of the House of Representatives and State Assemblies.
Sani acknowledged the potential risks of online backlash or threats from political loyalists and thugs but urged Nigerians not to be intimidated. He emphasized that it is their democratic right to express opinions about all elected officials, not just the President.
"Be courageous enough to also write about the Governor of your State, the Senator, and members of the House of Reps and State Assembly representing you," Sani wrote, adding that critical engagement is essential to holding all leaders accountable.
