Senator Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan Appears in Court

Senator Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan appeared before the Federal High Court in Abuja on May 13 for the hearing of her case, where she is challenging her suspension from the Senate.

The suspension, which was announced on March 6, came on the heels of her allegations of sexual harassment against the Senate President, Godswill Akpabio an accusation he has denied.

Akpoti-Uduaghan filed a motion against the National Assembly, the Senate, Akpabio, and Senator Neda Imasuem, Chairman of the Senate Committee on Ethics, Privileges, and Code of Conduct, all of whom are listed as defendants in the case.

During Monday's hearing, which was reassigned to Justice Binta Nyako after the withdrawal of Justice Obiorah Egwuatu, Jibrin Okutekpa (SAN), the counsel representing Akpoti-Uduaghan, informed the court that all necessary documents for the case had been filed, in accordance with the court’s earlier directives.
