Pascal Dozie, Diamond Bank Founder and Business Icon, Dies at 85

Renowned Nigerian entrepreneur and founder of Diamond Bank, Pascal Gabriel Dozie, has passed away at the age of 85, just one day before his 86th birthday.

Born on April 9, 1939, in Egbu, Owerri, Imo State, Dozie was a towering figure in Nigeria’s financial landscape. He studied Economics at the prestigious London School of Economics and went on to obtain a master’s degree in Administrative Science from City University, London.

In 1991, he founded Diamond Bank, which quickly rose to prominence as one of Nigeria’s most innovative and customer-focused financial institutions. He served as CEO of the bank until 2006, when he handed over the reins to his son, Uzoma Dozie.
