Nottingham Forest Owner Marinakis Sues Crystal Palace Over Fan Banner

Nottingham Forest owner Evangelos Marinakis has reportedly taken legal action against Crystal Palace over a controversial banner displayed by the club’s supporters.

Marinakis’ lawyers filed a defamation claim at the High Court on Monday, with CPFC Limited named as one of two defendants in the case.

The dispute centres on a banner displayed by Palace fans during their 1–1 Premier League draw with Nottingham Forest at Selhurst Park last August. The banner depicted Marinakis holding a gun to the head of Forest midfielder Morgan Gibbs-White and carried a message referencing allegations of blackmail, match-fixing, drug trafficking and corruption.

Marinakis has repeatedly denied any involvement in wrongdoing connected to those allegations.

The legal proceedings will now determine whether the banner amounted to defamation and whether Crystal Palace bears any responsibility for its display
