FCT Police Hands Over Recovered Drugs and Suspects to NDLEA

The FCT Police Command has handed over recovered illicit drugs and substances, alongside arrested suspects, to the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA), FCT Command.

The handover took place on Friday, August 21, 2026, with FCT Commissioner of Police CP Ahmed Muhammed Sanusi stressing the importance of strong collaboration between law enforcement agencies.

According to the Command, while the police can investigate and prosecute drug-related offences, the NDLEA has the statutory mandate to handle such cases, making the inter-agency handover necessary.

Receiving the suspects and recovered substances on behalf of the NDLEA, ACN Samuel Orji, the agency’s FCT Public Relations Officer, thanked the police for the collaboration and said the suspects would undergo proper investigation and be prosecuted in accordance with the law.

The FCT Police Command also urged residents to remain vigilant and report suspicious activities to the nearest police station or through its emergency lines.

Another reminder that tackling drug-related crime requires agencies working together.
