North-Central APC Leaders Push for Party Chairmanship Following Ganduje’s Exit

The North-Central leaders of the All Progressives Congress (APC) have called on President Bola Tinubu and other key figures within the party to allow their region to produce the next National Chairman, following the resignation of Alhaji Abdullahi Ganduje on Friday.

Speaking in Abuja on Saturday, Saleh Zazzaga, Chairman of the North-Central APC Forum and a former member of the APC Presidential Campaign Council for the 2023 elections, emphasized that this is a chance for the party to correct what he described as a historical injustice against the North-Central zone.

“We have always maintained that the office of the National Chairman should remain with the North-Central to complete the tenure originally assigned to Senator Abdullahi Adamu,” Zazzaga stated. “We even pursued legal action to defend this position. But when the National Executive Committee endorsed Ganduje’s appointment, we temporarily set aside our push to preserve the party’s unity.
