PDP Leadership Crisis Deepens as 11 NWC Members Reject Anyanwu’s Reinstatement

The internal turmoil within Nigeria’s main opposition party, the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), has intensified as 11 members of the party’s National Working Committee (NWC) have publicly rejected the return of Senator Samuel Anyanwu as the party’s National Secretary.

Ambassador Iliya Damagum, the Acting National Chairman, had earlier announced at a Wednesday press briefing that Anyanwu had been reinstated, describing the decision as a difficult but necessary step.

However, shortly after Damagum’s statement, several key NWC members firmly opposed his directive, arguing that he lacked the authority to make such a decision.
