Nnamdi Kanu Apologizes for Verbal Attacks on Court and Lawyers
The leader of the proscribed Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), Nnamdi Kanu, has publicly apologized for his recent verbal attacks on the Federal High Court, Justice Binta Nyako, and his legal team.
Kanu, through his new counsel, Chief Kanu Agabi, SAN—a former Attorney-General of the Federation and Minister of Justice—also extended an apology to the Federal Government's lawyer, Chief Awomolo, SAN.
The apology was delivered in court before Justice James Omotosho, the new trial judge, during the resumed hearing on March 21, 2025. Kanu’s lawyer sought permission from the court to convey his client’s regrets, which was granted.
This development comes as Kanu’s case continues, following the transfer of his case file to Justice Omotosho, who had previously set March 21 for trial proceedings.
