FBI Arrests Nigerian Tech Enthusiast Sapphire Egemasi Over Alleged Multi-Million Dollar Fraud

Nigerian tech entrepreneur Sapphire Egemasi has been arrested by the FBI in connection with a major fraud operation targeting several U.S. government agencies.

 The arrest took place around April 10, 2025, in the Bronx, New York, and included other suspects, notably Samuel Kwadwo Osei, who is believed to have led the criminal network.

The charges, based on a federal grand jury indictment filed in 2024, allege that the group was involved in extensive internet fraud and money laundering activities between September 2021 and February 2023.
