New Orleans Attack Leaves 15 Dead; Attacker Inspired by ISIS
A devastating attack in New Orleans on New Year’s Day has resulted in the deaths of 15 people, with the assailant identified as 42-year-old Shamsud Din Jabbar. Authorities report that Jabbar rammed his truck into a crowded area, expressing a "desire to kill" and claiming to be inspired by ISIS.
During the incident, Jabbar was armed with body armor and a rifle, and he had improvised explosive devices (IEDs) in his vehicle.
He was shot dead in a subsequent gunfight with police, which also left two officers injured.
In addition to the chaos caused by the attack, three improvised pipe bombs were discovered nearby in the city's renowned French Quarter, raising concerns about further potential threats
