Nigeria Launches Plan to Monetize Cultural and Tourism Resources, Aiming for $100 Billion by 2030
Hannatu Musawa, the Minister of Art, Culture, Tourism, and Creative Economy, announced today that the Federal Executive Council (FEC) has approved an ambitious initiative to generate revenue from Nigeria’s rich cultural and tourism resources.
The plan, developed in collaboration with the Ministry of Finance Incorporated (MOFI), seeks to create a new revenue stream while celebrating the nation’s heritage. Musawa shared that this marks a historic moment, as for the first time, a standalone ministry has been entrusted with unlocking the potential of Nigeria’s cultural, creative, and tourism sectors.
“Our goal is to contribute $100 billion to Nigeria’s economy by 2030 by monetizing both tangible and intangible assets,” Musawa said.
