Man Reunites with Mother After 26 Years on Death Row Over Purchase of Stolen Generator
Ogbonna Igbojionu, a native of Abia State, has finally regained his freedom after spending 26 years on death row at the Kirikiri Maximum Security Prison in Lagos.
He was imprisoned in 1999 at the age of 22 for unknowingly purchasing a stolen generator.
Igbojionu, who bought the generator from one Segun Ajibade, was convicted and sentenced to death despite insisting he had no knowledge the item was stolen.
