DSS Operatives Allegedly Assault TVC News Cameraman, Block Filming of Nnamdi Kanu in Court

Operatives of the Department of State Services (DSS) reportedly assaulted a TVC News cameraman and prevented him from filming Nnamdi Kanu, the detained leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), during his court appearance on Friday, March 21.

According to eyewitnesses, the security agents aggressively stopped journalists from capturing footage of Kanu as he arrived at the Federal High Court in Abuja. The TVC cameraman, whose name has not been disclosed, was allegedly manhandled by DSS operatives while attempting to record the event.

Sources at the scene reported that the operatives forcefully seized his camera and demanded that he delete any footage of Kanu. The incident sparked outrage among journalists present, who condemned the act as an attack on press freedom.
