FG Approves NYSC Mobilization for Full-Time HND Graduates

The Federal Government of Nigeria has officially approved the mobilization of full-time Higher National Diploma (HND) graduates for the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC).

This announcement was made by the Minister of Education, Dr. Tunji Alausa, in a statement released in Abuja on Thursday through the ministry's Director of Press and Public Relations, Folasade Boriowo.

According to Alausa, this decision follows extensive discussions with the NYSC Director-General and aims to correct the long-standing exclusion of HND graduates from the scheme. He emphasized that this move reflects the government's commitment to fairness and inclusivity within the education sector.

However, he clarified that only full-time HND graduates are eligible, while those who completed their programmes through part-time study remain ineligible for NYSC mobilization.

To facilitate a smooth process, the National Board for Technical Education (NBTE) has been instructed to compile data on eligible HND graduates, while Polytechnic Rectors have been directed to upload graduate information onto a newly created HND admission portal.
