King Sunny Ade's Daughter Raises Alarm Over Father's Whereabouts

Damilola Esther Adeniyi-Adegeye, the daughter of legendary Nigerian juju musician King Sunny Ade, has raised alarm over the mysterious whereabouts of her father.

 In a series of emotional social media posts on April 28, 2025, Damilola claimed that her 78-year-old father has been unreachable for weeks and accused his manager, Dayo Adegeye, who is also her stepbrother, of isolating him under suspicious conditions.

The matter came to public attention when media personality @Akanbitheduke shared concerns on Instagram, revealing that King Sunny Ade’s close associates had been unable to contact him. Damilola further accused the manager of moving her father from one hotel to another, preventing him from being with his family.

 She also alleged that Sunny Ade has been forced to continue performing despite his deteriorating health, including the recent death of one of his daughters.

Adding to the disturbing allegations, Damilola claimed that her father has been administered sleeping pills to manage insomnia and that his handlers are exploiting him financially.
