Ijora Bridge to Be Fully Closed from April 27 for 

The Federal Government has announced that Lagos’ Ijora Bridge will be completely shut down starting April 27, 2025, as part of a crucial repair phase aimed at addressing long-standing structural issues.

Mrs. Olukorede Kesha, the Federal Controller of Works in Lagos, explained that the closure is necessary to replace around 50 damaged bearings key components beneath the bridge deck that help support and stabilize the structure.

While there's no immediate threat of collapse, Kesha emphasized that the growing vibrations caused by worn-out bearings could lead to more serious problems if left unaddressed.
