Madagascar’s President Labels Youth Protests as Attempted Coup
Madagascar’s President Andry Rajoelina has condemned the recent wave of youth led demonstrations, describing them as an “attempted coup.”
In a live Facebook address, Rajoelina accused unidentified groups of exploiting public frustration to “manipulate anger and destabilize the nation.”
The country has been rocked by days of protests, largely driven by young people voicing their grievances over poor governance, frequent power cuts, and worsening water shortages.
