EFCC to Investigate Matawalle Over Alleged N528bn Embezzlement

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has pledged to investigate fresh allegations of embezzlement against Bello Matawalle, Nigeria’s Minister of State for Defense, regarding over N528 billion during his tenure as the Governor of Zamfara State.

The petition, filed by the All Progressives Congress Young Leaders Alliance (APC-YLA), has sparked a protest at the EFCC headquarters in Abuja.

 Mohammed Ireji, the Convener of APC-YLA, led the demonstration, calling for the reopening of the case. He claimed that facts and figures pointing to Matawalle's alleged embezzlement had been gathered.
