AfDB, Ethiopian Airlines Partner on $8B Mega Airport Project

The African Development Bank (AfDB) has joined forces with Ethiopian Airlines to secure $8 billion for the construction of Bishoftu International Airport, which is set to become the largest airport in Africa.

 Ethiopian Airlines will contribute 20% of the project’s funding.

Situated about 40 kilometers from Addis Ababa, the airport will be developed in two phases and is projected to handle up to 110 million passengers annually by 2029.
