TCN Announces Seven-Hour Power Outage in FCT for Maintenance

The Transmission Company of Nigeria (TCN) has announced a scheduled seven-hour power outage affecting some areas in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT).

 According to a statement from TCN’s General Manager of Public Affairs, Ndidi Mbah, the outage will take place on Saturday, February 22, and Sunday, February 23, 2025, from 9:00 am to 4:00 pm each day.

The planned outage is necessary for annual preventive maintenance on two transformers at the Apo 132/33kV Transmission Substation in Abuja. Mbah noted that the maintenance will involve the 2x100MVA, TR3 & TR4 transformers. During this period, the Abuja Electricity Distribution Company (Abuja DisCo) will be unable to receive bulk power supply from these transformers.
