US Airstrike on Houthi-Controlled Oil Port Kills Over 70
A US airstrike on a key oil port held by Yemen’s Houthi rebels has resulted in the deaths of more than 70 people and left many others wounded, according to the Iranian-backed rebel group.
This attack, which took place overnight at the Ras Isa port, marks the deadliest known assault so far in the ongoing military campaign launched by President Donald Trump last month.
The strike killed at least 74 people and injured 171 others, with massive fireballs soaring into the sky and tanker trucks reduced to charred wreckage.
The airstrike is the first American attack on a Houthi-controlled oil facility in this new bombing campaign and comes just ahead of the resumption of US-Iran nuclear negotiations in Rome.
