Trump Claims U.S. Carried Out Military Strikes on ISIS Targets in Northwest Nigeria

 U.S. President Donald J. Trump has claimed that the United States conducted military strikes against ISIS affiliated fighters in northwest Nigeria.

In a statement posted on Truth Social on Christmas night, Trump said the operation was carried out under his direction as commander in chief and described it as a “powerful and deadly strike” against terrorists he alleged had been targeting and killing civilians, particularly Christians.
According to Trump, the strikes were executed by the U.S. military against Islamic State elements operating in the region. He claimed the operation involved “numerous perfect strikes” and warned that further action would follow if attacks continued.
