Superstar singer Tiwa Savage has opened up about the moment she took a leap of faith early in her career by directly approaching music executive Don Jazzy for a record deal.

“When Don Jazzy launched Mavin Records, I walked up to him and said, ‘Will you sign me now?’ I didn’t hold back I asked him again, shamelessly,” she recounted.

Her determination and confidence eventually paid off, as she became one of the flagship artists that helped shape the Mavin brand into a powerhouse in African music.
