Tinubu Urges Action on West Africa's Weak Trade Links: “The World Won’t Wait for Us”
Speaking at the 2025 West Africa Economic Summit (WAES), President Bola Tinubu called for urgent action to address the region's persistently low intra-regional trade, which remains below 10%.
“This isn’t about a lack of political will it’s a failure in coordination,” Tinubu stated.
“The global economy won’t pause while West Africa tries to sort itself out. And frankly, neither should we.
