Tinubu Reveals He Almost Pulled Out of 2023 Presidential Election

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has disclosed that he nearly withdrew from the 2023 presidential race due to intense challenges but was convinced to continue by former Katsina State Governor, Aminu Masari.

Speaking at a special Iftar gathering at the Presidential Villa, Tinubu recounted how a conversation with a relative, who blamed him for the naira scarcity crisis at the time, made him reconsider his ambition. According to him, the relative doubted his chances of winning and lamented the hardships Nigerians were facing.

Feeling the pressure, Tinubu contemplated stepping aside, but Masari and other political allies urged him to persevere. "Masari assured me of unwavering support, saying, ‘I am leading the North West group—don’t look back,’" Tinubu revealed
