Three Women Lose Their Lives in High-Speed Florida Crash After Posting Drinking Video
A tragic single-vehicle accident in Lake County, Florida, claimed the lives of three women and left a fourth in critical condition in the early hours of Sunday, March 30, according to the Florida Highway Patrol (FHP).
The crash happened at approximately 3:16 a.m. on State Road 19, south of Saint Florian Lane. Just moments before the incident, one of the women posted a video on social media showing them drinking and listening to loud music while the vehicle reportedly reached speeds of up to 116 mph.
According to the FHP report, a 2024 Jeep Grand Cherokee, driven by 30-year-old Shaykaylah Mathis from Mount Dora, veered off the road while failing to navigate a curve. The SUV, carrying three passengers from Eustis 32-year-old Kaneisha Lewis, 28-year-old Aqutavia Pew, and a 26-year-old woman whose identity remains undisclosed struck a pole before overturning multiple times.
All four occupants were ejected from the vehicle, as troopers believe they were not wearing seat belts.
