TCN Clarifies Incident Misreported as Grid Collapse

The Transmission Company of Nigeria (TCN) has clarified that a recent incident, initially described as a grid collapse, was actually a tripping of the Osogbo-Ihovbor and Benin-Omotosho transmission lines. 

This event only affected the bulk supply of electricity to the Lagos area, rather than the widespread grid failure previously reported.

In a statement, TCN emphasized that the situation has been mischaracterized, and the tripping of these lines was a localized issue. 

The company reassured the public that measures are in place to restore full service and maintain the reliability of electricity supply in the affected regions.
