Senator Umeh Decries Marginalization of His Zone in Ministerial Appointments and Rail Projects
Senator Victor Umeh, representing Anambra Central, has criticized what he describes as the exclusion of certain regions in national projects and ministerial appointments, citing it as a breach of Section 14.3 of the Nigerian Constitution.
He expressed his concerns during a Senate session, emphasizing the neglect of the Eastern rail line and the disproportionate allocation of ministerial positions.
According to Senator Umeh, his region has suffered significantly from this pattern of exclusion. He pointed out that while some zones have been allocated eight ministers, his zone has only been given five, highlighting an imbalance in political representation.
The senator also reiterated his ongoing fight for the Eastern rail line, stressing that infrastructural development should be inclusive and equitable across all regions of the country.
