SCUML and NFIU Conduct AML/CFT Training for Nigeria’s Gaming Operators in Lagos

The Special Control Unit against Money Laundering (SCUML) and the Nigerian Financial Intelligence Unit (NFIU) have strengthened their partnership by hosting a comprehensive training session on Anti-Money Laundering (AML) and Counter-Terrorism Financing (CFT) compliance for Nigeria’s gaming sector professionals.

The event, held on Friday, May 16, 2025, at Radisson Blu Hotel, Ikeja, Lagos, was organized in collaboration with the Association of Nigerian Bookmakers, Nigeria Licensed Lottery Operators Forum, and the Association of Casino Operators, with support from Lagos State Lotteries and Gaming.

During the training, Assistant Commander of the EFCC, Ibinabo Amachree, who leads SCUML in Lagos, emphasized the legal responsibilities of gaming operators under the Money Laundering (Prevention and Prohibition) Act, 2022, while highlighting Nigeria’s ongoing efforts to enhance AML/CFT compliance.
