"Rules Are Rules" – Lawyer Stan Alieke Defends Disciplinary Action Against Corps Member Who Criticized Government

Legal practitioner, Stan Alieke, has weighed in on the controversy surrounding a corps member who criticized the Nigerian government, arguing that she violated employment policies.

In a statement, Alieke explained that as a corps member, the individual is technically an employee of the government and receives stipends from the state. According to him, employment policies whether in government or private organizations often restrict employees from publicly criticizing their employers.

“This is not just peculiar to the government; in some organizations, you are restricted from criticizing or making a public appearance that could negatively impact your employer,” Alieke stated.
