Reps Order 10-Year Security Protection for Journalist Who Exposed Fake Degree Syndicate
The House of Representatives has directed security agencies to provide a decade-long protection for Umar Audu, a DAILY NIGERIAN investigative journalist whose undercover work exposed a widespread certificate racketeering network in the Benin Republic.
Audu’s investigation unveiled how fraudulent academic degrees were being issued and validated by some Nigerian authorities, including the Ministry of Education.
The scandal prompted a probe by the House Committees on University Education, Polytechnic Education, Interior, Foreign Affairs, and Youth Development.
