Reps Committee Applauds Progress on Lagos-Calabar Coastal Highway

The House of Representatives Committee on Works has commended the progress made on the Lagos-Calabar Coastal Highway project, praising the quality of work and the responsible use of allocated funds.

Chairman of the committee, Hon. Akin Alabi, led members on an inspection tour of the construction site on Monday. Speaking after the visit, Alabi said the committee was impressed by the standard of work being delivered by the contractor and the oversight efforts of the Federal Ministry of Works.

“Our role in parliament is straightforward,” Alabi noted. “We approve part of the funds, monitor how they’re used, and if the results justify it, we approve more. In this case, the contractor and the ministry have done well with what they’ve received, so we’re ready to support additional funding where necessary
