Putin Dispatches Top Envoy Kirill Dmitriev to U.S. Amid Oil Sanctions by Trump

Kirill Dmitriev, a senior Russian economic envoy and a close associate of Vladimir Putin, has arrived in the United States for meetings just days after Donald Trump imposed sweeping sanctions on Russia’s major oil companies.  

The sanctions, which target state backed firms like Rosneft and Lukoil, are intended to pressure Moscow over its war in Ukraine.
