Protest by Tanker Drivers over E-Call-Up Fee
The ongoing protest by tanker drivers over a new electronic call-up levy is fueling worries about a possible disruption in the delivery of petroleum products in Lagos and nearby states.
On Monday, members of the Petroleum Tanker Drivers (PTD) arm of NUPENG withdrew their services in protest against what they described as unfair treatment by state officials particularly by the Lagos task force in the vicinity of the Dangote Refinery and Ibeju-Lekki.
In a memo issued on Monday morning, NUPENG directed its members to discontinue all loading operations and movement of trucks until further notice.
