Pro-Wike NANS Faction Cancels Planned Protest After High Level Talks

A faction of the National Association of Nigerian Students (NANS), reportedly aligned with Seyi Tinubu, son of President Bola Tinubu, has called off its planned protest over the continued closure of public primary schools in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT).

The group announced its decision to withdraw from the protest following a series of meetings with key government figures, including the Minister of the FCT, Nyesom Wike, the Department of State Services (DSS), and other stakeholders.

The students had initially raised concerns about the prolonged shutdown of schools, but following reassurances and discussions during the engagements, the group chose dialogue over confrontation
