Presidential Aide Temitope Ajayi Demands Severe Punishment for NYSC Member Who Criticized President Tinubu

Temitope Ajayi, a senior aide to President Bola Tinubu, has sparked controversy by calling for capital punishment against a National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) member who criticized the President.

In a post shared on social media, Ajayi argued that while ordinary citizens have the right to criticize public officials, corps members are bound by an oath and a code of conduct that prohibits them from making derogatory remarks about the country or its leadership.

"The issue is not about free speech. If she were not a corps member, she could say whatever she fancies. But as a corper, she violated her oath and code of conduct. That is capital punishment under NYSC. You can't abuse the country you are serving under any guise," he wrote.
