President Tinubu Jokes About Lawmakers Being "Reelected" During Budget Presentation

On December 18, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu humorously declared that the lawmakers of the 10th National Assembly were “all reelected” after mistakenly referring to them as the 11th Assembly during his presentation of the 2025 budget.

The slip occurred while he addressed a joint session of the National Assembly, stating, “In fulfilment of one of my constitutional duties and with an unyielding commitment to rebuilding Nigeria towards ensuring that we remain steadfast on a journey to a prosperous future, I hereby present the 2025 budget to the joint session of the 11th National Assembly.”

As legislators quickly corrected him, noting that they are indeed the 10th Assembly, Tinubu responded with a smile, “10th? I wrote 11th, which means you’re all re-elected.”

The light-hearted moment has since gone viral.
