Presidency Responds to Jonathan’s 2027 Ambition
The Presidency has reacted to former President Goodluck Jonathan’s entry into the 2027 race, stressing that the courts will ultimately determine his constitutional eligibility to contest, having been sworn in twice as president.
In a statement issued by Bayo Onanuga, Special Adviser to President Bola Tinubu on Information & Strategy, the Presidency criticized Jonathan’s past record, claiming his administration was responsible for the nation’s economic decline.
> “The record of former President Goodluck Jonathan led to the downfall of the economy, leaving the country in a challenging situation,” Onanuga stated.
